Kurt Busch, the 2004 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, has experienced both triumphs and personal challenges in his life. After his divorces from Eva Bryan and Ashley Van Metre, he is indeed living a happy life with his girlfriend, Lyda.

Kurt Thomas Busch, born on August 4, 1978, is a retired American NASCAR driver.

He is best known for winning the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series championship and the 2017 Daytona 500.

He competed in NASCAR from 2000 to 2026, driving for various teams, including 23XI Racing in his final season.

Busch secured 34 Cup Series victories over his career. He made history as the first driver to win races with four different manufacturers: Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, and Toyota.

In addition to his NASCAR success, Busch competed in the Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the NHRA.

His aggressive driving style earned him early controversy, but he later became known for improving team performance. NASCAR named Busch one of its 75 Greatest Drivers in 2026.

Kurt Busch’s Wife Ashley Files for Divorce, Citing the Marriage as “Irretrievably Broken” in 2026

The former NASCAR champion Kurt Busch has been through significant personal milestones, including his two marriages.

His first marriage was to Eva Bryan, whom he met in 2005 at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The couple became engaged and married in 2006 but separated in 2011 after several years together.

In 2014, Busch met Ashley Van Metre, a former competitive polo player and brand ambassador.

The two quickly developed a strong bond, getting engaged in 2015. They tied the knot in a private, intimate ceremony in St. Barts in January 2017.

Their relationship seemed to flourish, with “love at first sight.”

However, in May 2026, Ashley filed for divorce, citing the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”

She also accused Busch of committing a tortious act, but he did not publicly reveal the specifics of the accusation.

Court documents claimed that Busch had cut off her access to joint finances and demanded she vacate their shared home despite his other residence.

Busch expressed heartbreak over the separation, requesting privacy as the divorce proceedings unfolded.

Following the divorce, Van Metre has moved on and is reportedly dating Benjamin Larsen.

Despite the personal challenges, Busch has focused on his recovery from a concussion that led to his early retirement from racing in 2026.

The end of Kurt Busch’s marriage marked a challenging chapter, but both he and Ashley Van Metre have moved forward in their lives. He is recovering from the concussion that led to his racing retirement.

As for his current relationship, he has reportedly been linked to Lyda Moore, a medical aesthetician and laser technician.

They went public with their relationship on Instagram earlier this year and shared several photos of their outings together.

Moreover, they’ve been spotted at various events, including Disneyland, NFL and MLB games, and even a USAC Midget Race since he retired from NASCAR in 2026.

Recently, Busch posted a picture of him and with a warm caption:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from AZ. Lyda and I are wishing everyone the best during the holiday season.

This shows that they are enjoying their time together and sharing happy moments together.
