Families and friends in Marin County are heartbroken after a car crash took the lives of four Archie Williams High School students and left two others badly hurt.

The accident happened Friday night, April 18, 2026, when a Volkswagen Tiguan went off the road and hit a tree on San Geronimo Valley Road, just past Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Everyone inside the SUV was between 14 and 16 years old and was a student at Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo.

One of them, 16-year-old Josalynn Osborn, was described by her family as a joyful, bright, and big-hearted teen with a huge personality and big dreams.

She meant the world to her family, and they said they didn’t know how they’d survive without her.

Josalynn was also on her school’s wrestling team and was loved by friends and teammates.

In a message to students and families, Principal Jacob Gran from Archie Williams High School shared the names of the four students who sadly died in the crash: Olive Koren, Josalynn Osborn, Sienna Katz, and Ada Kepley.

He also said that the two students who survived are Elsa Laremont Stranczek and Marley Barclay.

Sadly, three teens died at the scene, and another passed away later at the hospital.

The driver and one passenger are still in the hospital with serious injuries.

A was started to support Josalynn’s family, and in just a day, it had already raised over $100,000.

It mentioned that the unfortunate incident is every mother’s worst nightmare.

Josy’s mom, Christie, and her sister Dylynn and their family need time and support as they heal.

Donations will help cover funeral and memorial costs, as well as allow Christie, a single mother, to take time off work during this tough time.

Even with other fundraisers, support is appreciated to help her face the toughest moment.

Moreover, Tiana Baumsteiger, who knew Josalynn, paid tribute to her with a poem.

When I grieve my outlet is writing…for all those grieving today and always.
Where the Light Still Finds Us
(for the ones we lost too soon)
A hush fell over the morning,
not for lack of birdsong,
but because the world knew—
a light had gone out
far too early.
We scream in silence first,
because words cannot hold
what only the soul can carry.
The ache is vast,
the kind that echoes
even when we’re still.
But stay there.
Not forever,
but long enough to feel it all—
the thunder of grief,
the gentle pulse of memory,
the shattered glass of “why?”
We do not heal
by turning away.
We mend
by sitting in the ruin,
by touching the broken ground
and planting something tender.
Suffering does not end us.
It initiates us—
into a deeper knowing
of love,
of fragility,
of the holiness of breath.
And slowly,
like sun warming frost,
something stirs—
not joy, not yet—
but a readiness
to carry their name
with reverence instead of rage.
This is how we overcome:
Not by escaping the pain,
but by walking through it
with open hands,
until grief becomes grace
and we learn
to love deeper
because of the loss.
Dedicated to Josalynn Osborn, love you sweet girl
