Late American football coach Bart Starr had two children named Bret Starr and Bart Starr Jr., whom he shared with his wife, Cherry Louise Morton.

He remained a supportive and responsible father to his sons. Sadly, he lost his younger son, Bret, at a young age due to a drug overdose.

Despite a huge name and fame, the football coach had many ups and downs in his personal life and family matters.

Bart Starr Was A Talented Football Coach

(1934- 2019) remained a famous football player and coach for the Green Bay Packers. He became well-known while playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide before joining the Packers in 1956.

Likewise, the 6 feet 1 inch tall Starr played with the Packers for 16 years until 1971. He led the team to three league championships from 1965 to 1967, which no other quarterback has done.

Not just that, the late football star became the winner of the first two Super Bowls and received many awards, like MVP and Pro Bowl selections.

Bart was honored to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.

Likewise, his impact on football is enormous because of his records in the postseason and his high career completion percentage.

Rawhide Boys Ranch, located in New London, Wisconsin, is designed to help at-risk and troubled boys throughout Wisconsin.

He has an active media presence and often updates their family life.

Recently, Starr Jr revealed about his mom, Cherry’s death. He said that his mother fought with cancer for many years.

Cherry died peacefully at 89 in February 2014, and her family members are paying tribute to her. Also, Bart Starr’s wife, Cherry, always wished to go to Green Bay, as disclosed by her son.

Further, Bart Jr appears to be a married man with three daughters. However, he maintains a low-key profile when sharing his matters in public.

Even his actual age and birth details are away. He might be in his sixties now.

Bret Starr

Bret Starr, born on 1 February 1964, is the younger son of a late football coach. Despite being the son of a famous sportsman, he never tried his luck in football or any other sports.

Instead, the celebrity son made news headlines for his drug addiction, which ultimately took his life at the young age of 24.

Bret died on July 7, 1988, in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida, USA, due to a heroin overdose. His family paid homage to him at his burial at Southern Heritage Cemetery.

Besides, the Starr family tree includes the late Lula Starr and Ben Starr, who gave birth to late football coach Bret Starr.

Also, Bart had a younger brother named Hilton E. “Bubba” Starr.

The late football quarterback cum coach, Bart, had a healthy relationship with his family members till his death in 2019.
