LiAngelo Ball, an American professional basketball player, and rapper, seems to focus more on his music career as he recently signed a million-dollar contract with Def Jam.
The JBA champion, LiAngelo Ball, pivots from his hoop dreams to a focus on music with a new contract deal with renowned music company Def Jam.
According to reports, LiAngelo Ball signed a guaranteed $8 million record deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group, with escalating to as much as $13 million on Monday, January 13, 2026.

The NBA G-league star LiAngelo Ball and his label Born2Ball Music Group rose into prominence in the music industry after he dropped his debut song “Tweaker” under the stage name G3 GELO on January 4, 2026, which has over eight million views on YouTube.
Similarly, his song has reached over 15 million streams on Spotify and is ranked 29th on iTunes’ download charts as of January 14, 2026.
His song has accumulated around $26k in revenue on YouTube alone in just 10 days.
LiAngelo gets mixed reactions from netizens as his song goes viral; many congratulate him on his new journey.
In contrast, some are stating that this is unfair as many talented doesn’t get a chance to build their career, and LiAngelo gets to sign a contract just after one song.

LiAngelo Robert Ball was born on November 24, 1998, as the second son of parents LaVar Ball and Tina Ball Slatinsky.
Moroever, his parents are both former college basketball players. Ball’s father, LaVar, who stands 6 feet 6 inches, played for Washington State and Cal State Los Angeles, whereas his mother, Tina, played with Cal State Los Angeles.
His father later decided to switch from his basketball career to becoming professional football.
LaVar played as a tight end for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football and currently is the co-founder and CEO of the sports apparel company Big Baller Brand and founder of the Junior Basketball Association.
LiAngelo’s parents are not the only athletes in Ball’s house; his brothers, Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball are both exceptional NBA players.

Lonzo began his professional basketball career with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017 and further joined the New Orleans Pelicans before signing a contract with the Chicago Bulls in 2026.
