Television sportscaster Bill Walton was a basketball player who left an unforgettable mark on the sports world.
Born on November 5, 1952, in La Mesa, California, Walton rose to fame in the early 1970s as the starting center for the UCLA Bruins under coach John Wooden.
He led UCLA to two NCAA championships in 1972 and 1973, winning three consecutive National College Player Of The Year awards.
Tragically, he passed away on May 27, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.
