Colleen, a Boston College graduate with dreams of becoming a sports athletic director, was pursuing law school at Wake Forest University in the mid-1990s.
During this time, fate intervened through a mutual friend, , the tight ends coach for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
One evening, Doug invited Colleen to a local sports bar in Atlanta, where the Georgia Tech coaching staff was celebrating a big win over North Carolina.
Among the coaches was Bill O’Brien, a graduate assistant for the team.

However, their eldest son, Jack, was diagnosed with lissencephaly, a rare brain disorder that affects his development.
Despite the challenges, Colleen became a pillar of strength for her family.
She devoted herself to Jack’s care while ensuring their home was filled with love and joy.
Her unwavering support allowed Bill to focus on his demanding career, knowing the family was in good hands.
Their younger son, Michael, has also thrived under Colleen’s care and guidance.
Now a Tufts University, Michael is carving his path as a member of the school’s baseball team.
The commitment of this longtime married couple to others extends far beyond the home.
The couple donated $100,000 to the Houston Food Bank during Bill’s time as the head coach of the Houston Texans.
This gesture speaks volumes about their commitment to giving back to the community.
