Hunter Hopson, widely recognized in the racing world by his car number #34, passed away on April 5, 2026, following a devastating car accident during a race at the age of 29.
The 29-year-old racer is survived by his fiancée and two children, a first-grader son Ryker Lee Hopson and daughter Ryynlee Nichole.
Hopson and Aubree Nichole were engaged on March 10, 2026. They had two children, Ryker and Ryynlee, who was born in 2026.
Similarly, Hopson, a native of Bullard, Texas, left behind his mother, , grandmother, , brother , and more.
Aubree took to her Facebook to notify people that they only have one legit account and alert people about fraudulent fund-me campaigns. She also clarified that an official obituary has yet to be posted.
, his sister, shared a heartfelt post expressing that if she had realized it would be her last time seeing him, she would have held him tightly to say goodbye, and if she had known it was his final race, she would have cheered with all her heart.
She , “If I had known last Saturday was your last race, I wouldn’t have complained about factorys being last. I would’ve cheered louder. If I had known yesterday was your last day I would’ve called just to hear you say “bye Mak Mak love you” one more time.“
Hopson’s best friend, , took to her Facebook, sharing a photo featuring him and Aubree. She wrote:
I’m in such shock I don’t even know what to think. Sick to your stomach, heart broken, devastated for Aub & the kids. They need the absolute most prayers right now. We will miss you more than words can describe.
Later, Lexa shared multiple photos and videos featuring him and wrote a lengthy eulogy, which reads:
The laughs were contagious. Vacations, trips, racing. Well forever be your biggest fan. We’d drive hours even if you just ended up with a flat. We’ve been family for more years than I can count. Yall have been with me through thick & thin the lowest times. I know you’ll be winning every race up there. Watch over us all. We all need it. I hope you see how truly loved you were/ are. To know you was a blessing. Well keep your memory alive forever ♾️

Racer Hunter Hopson Played Football in High School!
Born and raised in Bullard, HunterHopson was a proud alumnus of Bullard High School, graduating with the Class of 2014.
During his time there, he made a name for himself as a dedicated member of the Bullard Varsity Football team, donning jersey #36. However, he emerged in the world of motorsports.
He was drawn to the esprit de corps and thrill of racing at an early age, a love that led him to the fore at the local Factor Stock levels.
Hunter Hopson, who owned the #34 car, was a diligent individual and driver. He put in countless hours perfecting his car.
He would routinely guide youthful, ambitious drivers, sharing his insights and inspiring them to be fans of the sport he so dearly loved.
Now that he isn’t anymore, the entire Tyler community is mourning his loss.
Hunter Hopsonn’s memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Bullard Community Center.
