Golfer Carter Henning’s parents have remained out of the spotlight while providing support during his challenging days following an accident and throughout his career.

Carter Henning, a freshman at Calamus-Wheatland High School in Iowa, has recently made headlines for his inspiring resilience.

Two months ago, on September 23, 2026, he suffered a severe injury in a snowmobile accident that resulted in the amputation of his left leg.

Fortunately, his injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was kept overnight for observation.

Despite this life-altering event, Carter has returned to competitive sports with remarkable determination.

He is currently the number one golfer on the Calamus-Wheatland varsity golf team and is also preparing for another season of varsity baseball.

His story was highlighted in a news segment on KWQC News on April 22, 2026, showcasing his ability to overcome adversity and continue pursuing his athletic passions.

His dedication to sports, particularly golf and basketball, shows a strong drive and discipline.

Also, his recent career successes in golf reflect his dedication and his parents’ support.

Regarding his career, Henning was actively involved in golf prior to his accident. As a freshman at Calamus-Wheatland High School, he was part of the Warriors’ varsity golf team.

His skill level was significant enough that, post-accident, he was able to progress to become the team’s number one golfer.

Beyond golf, Carter is also involved in baseball at Calamus-Wheatland High School. He plays as a point guard for the varsity team and wears jersey number 1.

Some reports indicate he was preparing for another season of varsity baseball following his recovery.

His participation in varsity baseball as a freshman suggests he was a talented athlete in this sport as well.

Carter’s parents have been his biggest supporters. They helped him overcome the physical and emotional struggles of his recovery while nurturing his sports goals.

With their support, along with his coaches and the Calamus-Wheatland community, Carter is set to excel in high school sports.
