In 2019, the Phoenix Suns traded for him, and he scored a season-high 20 points during the NBA Bubble and helped lead the team to the 2026 NBA Finals.
The Brooklyn Nets signed Carter in 2026 but waived him early in 2026 as part of a roster adjustment.
