The Super Bowl champion Joshua Williams was born to parents George and Angela Williams.

Tragically, Joshua lost his mother at a young age. Left to raise Joshua alone, George Williams became both his father and mother figure.

The North Carolina-born is now set to feature as one of the Chiefs star players at the 2026 Super Bowl.

Joshua Williams took off on a remarkable football journey, starting as a nickel at Fayetteville State University.

His sophomore season saw a transition to the outside corner, showcasing impressive stats with 32 tackles, 11 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.

The challenges of his junior season being canceled due to COVID-19 didn’t deter him. In his senior year, Williams earned first-team All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors.

Drafted in the fourth round by the Kansas City Chiefs, Williams made impactful contributions. Moreover, he secured crucial interceptions in key games, notably in the AFC Championship.

His stellar performance in Super Bowl LVII helped the Chiefs clinch victory, solidifying Williams’s rising star status in the NFL.

Joshua Williams was born to his parents, George and Angela, on October 17, 1999, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He lost his mother, Angela when he was at a young age due to heart complications when he was just six months old.

Despite the challenges of single parenthood, George William’s father moved to the Fayetteville area, close to Angela’s family.

Joshua was raised by a strong village, including his great aunt Ebony Augustus and uncle Ronald Louis Williams.

Moreover, Joshua refers to his father as his ‘Superman’. This shows that George’s dedication and efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Joshua’s journey into football began at the age of five, fueled by his father’s encouragement. George, an army veteran, instilled in Joshua a winner’s mentality and a dislike for losing.

Furthermore, George recalls Joshua’s competitive spirit, emphasizing that his son would cry when defeated. This early exposure to the importance of resilience laid the foundation for Joshua’s future success on the football field.

George’s commitment to service extends beyond his role as a father. Serving in the U.S. Army from 2004 to 2009, George’s responsibilities included being a Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of plans.

Even after leaving the military, George remained connected to the defense sector, working as a military analyst at Totalis Consulting Group Inc. and later at Data Solutions & Technology Incorporated.

Moreover, during Joshua’s high school years, George took a contracting position with Lockheed Martin, requiring him to relocate to Europe temporarily.

In addition to Joshua, George and Angela had a daughter named Mattison Williams. While George has not remarried, he has a child named Kellisa Williams from a previous relationship. Joshua also shares a close bond with his cousin, Bryan Johnson, who was raised like a brother.

Originally from Saint Kitts & Nevis, George Williams proudly embraces his Caribbean roots. He holds a Business Administration degree from Webster University, which he earned in 2010.

Furthermore, he also has a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Management from the same institution. Joshua has not forgotten his father’s homeland, as evidenced by the St Kitts & Nevis flag on his helmet.
