Then one might think that Chris’s father must be very proud of his son and must be very eager and supportive of him, especially after the announcement of this fight; well….. the reality seems to be different!

In a candid interview about his father on, Chris Eubank Jr. finally opened up about his ongoing strained relationship with his dad.

He said, “I would love for him to be involved, The fact that I even have to say that is insane, how is that even a thing?

“That his son is going to fight the son of his arch nemesis all those years ago when he was a world champion, how was it a thing that he may not be there? But, it’s a thing, we don’t talk. He (his father) has shown no interest in my career for a long period of time now, he’s shown no interest in me in a long period of time.”

You know, he’s gone through a lot over the last few years and he’s still dealing with his demons and you know, he thinks certain things aren’t right and should be a certain way and they’re not, he’s not happy with it.”

Chris, both Jr. and Sr., faced a tragic loss in 2026.

Chris Jr. lost his brother, and Chris Sr. lost his son,  to a heart attack, and that too just a month after having become a father.

Now, Chris Eubank Jr. has taken up the fatherly role in his nephew Raheem’s life, ensuring that he receives the utmost happiness and support.

Trying to fill in the gap, his late brother left.

Every member of his family seems to be coping with this incident differently.

It’s a battle of the heart and the mind, and it is and will be hard. We can just hope for them to heal… and move forward with their life.

With Eubank Jr.’s recent revelation about his dysfunctional relationship with his dad in recent years….. the BATTLE seems to be very tough for his family.

Continuing on, Chris added,

“This is how he’s (Chris Eubank Sr.) dealing with it, by not being in my life. As somebody who’s lost a son, I think that that’s a pretty insane thing to be doing, an insane way to be acting, to kind of not be speaking to, you know, your remaining kids.

But, he’s his own man, he’s dealing with his situation how he thinks he should and all I can do is sit and wait and hope that he comes around at some point. But I can’t tell you if that will happen any time soon.”

When asked in the same interview if he tried to reach out to his father, Eubank Jr. said, “Yeah, I message him every once in a while, I don’t really get much back.”

How sad is it to hear and feel that? Guess only the ones, who have experienced strained relationships can understand.

When Helwani asked if Eubank’s father replied, Chris’s response was heartbreaking.

Yeah. Sometimes he, you know, it’ll be a one-word answer or an Instagram post but there’s no real conversation there.”

Chris Eubank Jr. opens up about his relationship with his father.

"For a long time, I tried to act like it was cool… I got sick of that shit. It's bullshit. We're not cool."

— Ariel Helwani (@arielhelwani)

“It’s sad but, I’m my own man and I’ve got massive things on my plate, in my path that I have to complete, I have to succeed in. So I can’t let anything like that affect me spiritually, mentally, emotionally, I have to be strong, I have to be focused. Once my career is done, then I can try, you know, spend time worrying about other people’s feelings but for right now, it’s all systems go, man, I’ve gotta be me”, Eunbank Jr. added to his statement.

Helwani also enquired if his father reached out to him after his overwhelming victory over Szeremeta, to which he replied, “No, I have not.”

For someone like Chris, whose father had been his source of inspiration, his mentor, his supporter, and had been with him in every step of his life and career up until their relationship turned sour, this response is no less than a heart-break.

But it seems the little Chris has grown up and has enough mental fortitude and confidence to navigate life, even in the absence of his father figure.

He addressed his concerns about how he would previously respond, “Yeah, we’re good,” when asked about how he was doing with his father.

He goes on to clarify, “…..but I got sick of that s* man. It’s bull**, we’re not cool, we’re not okay and people need to know.”

It seems that the father-son relationship is facing a turbulent turn.

We can only hope that they solve their grievance and reunite to become the happy family they once were.
