Previously, rumors circulated about a romantic affair involving Chuck Love, former assistant coach, and Ashley Scoggin, a former Nebraska basketball player.

Following the rumor, the team removed Ashley while they suspended Chuck with pay from his coaching position, and he later resigned.

However, two years after her removal, Scoggin has recently filed a  against her former assistant coach, Chuck Love, head coach Amy Williams, NU Athletic Director Trev Alberts, and the NU Board of Regents.

She claims that assistant coach Chuck Love groomed her for a s*xual relationship, leading to her removal from the team when she denied certain encounters.

Moreover, the lawsuit accuses Alberts of neglecting to address the abuse of power and ethics and Williams of punishing Scoggin for Love’s behavior.

Furthermore, Scoggin seeks damages for suffering and loss of her basketball spot. Scoggin’s attorney said,
“It’s a very troubling and serious subject of predatory coaches that pursue s*xual relationships with student-athletes. There’s an enormous imbalance of power between the professional coach and student-athletes..”

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln declined to comment on the situation but plans to defend the matter.
