Alejandro Lopera died of a stab wound after a fight between Atletico Nacional fans who traveled to Brazil to watch their team play.
According to his official handle, Alejandro Lopera Zulaga, 17, was born in 1997 in Medellin, Antioquia, but lived in Santiago, Chile.
Alejandro Lopera was a dedicated professional in logistics and transportation at Club Atletico Nacional Oficial, one of Colombia’s most prestigious football clubs.
He pursued his higher education at Institución Universitaria ITM.
Alejandro Lopera Was Stabbed To Death In A Fight In Brazil
Santiago, Chile, resident Alejandro Lopera Zulaga in the early hours of Friday, April 11, 2026, in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, capital of the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, hours after a football match between the Brazilian club, Internacional, and the Colombian, Atletico Nacional.
The altercation occurred in the Cidade Baixa neighborhood shortly after the Colombian side’s 3-0 loss at Beira-Rio Stadium.
The head of the Homicide Police Station of the Rio Grande do Sul, Raissa Araujo, said Alejandro was found lifeless when he was taken to a hospital.
He also that the people involved in the fight were of Colombian nationality. Follwing the stabbing, the suspect reportedly fled into nearby businesses to avoid retaliation but was assaulted and stabbed in turn by other bystanders.
The fans also beat the attacker who killed his compatriot, and the mobile emergency service (Samu) transported him to the Porto Alegre Emergency Hospital, as per the local news media.
An Instagram handle named bahgossip posted the video of the tragic incident. They captioned,
Images obtained show Alejandro Lopera Zuluaga injured shortly after being stabbed in a general brawl between Atlético Nacional fans in Cidade Baixa, Porto Alegre. The crime occurred in the early hours of this Friday (11), hours after the game against Inter, valid for the Libertadores.

Other close ones and relatives have also poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Alejandro’s parents to stay strong in this heartbreaking moment. His family will soon reveal his funeral service schedule.
He will be remembered for his unforgettable contributions as a Club Atletico Nacional Oficial logistician. Rest in Peace, Alejandro Lopera.
