Duke Blue Devils’ shooting guard, Kon Knueppel, has followed in the footsteps of his parents, Kon Sr. and Chari Knueppel, who were basketball players.
Though all the hype may be around Knueppel’s teammate Cooper Flagg being the No.1 Draft pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Knueppel has also received a lottery shoutout.
In his freshman year at Duke, Knueppel has averaged 13.1 points, 2.6 assists, and 3.7 rebounds.
The young basketball star has been shooting 37.3% from three and 87.2% at the line and recently had a viral play against North Carolina State in their 74-64 win.
The shooting guard steadied his teammate, Tyrese Proctor, by grabbing his leg, who nearly lost his balance while going out of bounds.

Knueppel joined Duke from Wisconsin Lutheran High School as a five-star recruit and was ranked 16 nationally by 247 Sports and No.22 by ESPN.
In December 2026, Sports Illustrated mentioned Knueppel as one of the most polarizing players in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The sports website mentioned that Knueppel’s lack of athleticism has been a major concern for the NBA scout.
But Knueppel also has upside, including being a low-turnover dribble/pass/shoot wing who can handle pick-and-rolls.
This time, last year, there wasn’t any hype surrounding the 2026 NBA Draft, but that isn’t the case with the 2026 NBA Draft, with many saying the projected No.1 Cooper Flagg could be a generational player.
