Dustin Fox recently shared information about his health status on X, causing concern among fans. However, his account no longer exists. 

Well, fans have speculated on various reasons behind his unwell health, with some primarily suggesting he might be dealing with mental illness.

 from 2005 to 2008, Dustin Fox played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL).

Previously, the athlete initially prepped at the GlenOak High School, competing in two sports- football and track and field.

Recognizing his passion for football, Dustin played collegiately at Ohio State University, where he led the team toward the 2002 BCS National Championship.

Further, drafted in the third round (80th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft, the footballer spent his NFL career spanning through multiple teams.

While with the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles, he spent the entire season as a practice squad member. 

Besides, the rookie played with the Buffalo Bills for two seasons, appearing in eleven games.

On January 31, 2026, Dustin Fox regarding his health through X (formerly Twitter).

He tweeted,

“Unless you have been there, no one knows the trauma it takes on your brain and family. My friends in the military get it. No one else can understand.”

Given this, many of his well-wishers and fans emerged concerned over his health and wished him well.

Dustin thanked his fans for the well wishes and announced his temporary absence from the air.

He, too, expressed his gratitude towards the NFL and later thanked ESPN for being supportive.

However, although the former athlete hasn’t mentioned the exact reason, people and media alike have speculated that he might be dealing with anxiety or CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.

The Athlete Post-Retirement Career

Following the athlete’s retirement from professional football career, Dustin Fox opted for a career in sports broadcasting.

Commencing his journey in 2010, he initially signed with Cleveland ABC affiliate WEWS channel 5 as their Ohio State Buckeyes football analyst.

During the 2010 college football season, he delivered the game reports on WKNR AM 850’s OSU pregame show.

After which, he moved to WKRK-FM 92.3, where he co-hosted the afternoon drive show alongside Adam Gerstenhaber.

In 2012, Dustin joined in as the radio color analyst for the home broadcasts of the Cleveland Gladiators Arena Football League team.

Likewise, he expanded his experience as the co-host for the postgame show on the Browns radio network.

Currently, the broadcaster serves in various positions, including as a college football analyst across ESPN platforms.

In addition to that, he serves across the Cleveland Browns Radio Network on game days.
