Turkish football referee Elif Karaarslan makes headlines after her viral X-rated video with referees’ observer Orhan Erdemi circulates widely.
Best known for officiating important matches, she commenced her refereeing career as an assistant referee in 2026.
Growing up, she aspired to be a football player and played for several local Turkish football clubs.
However, according to reports, she quit playing due to an injury from tearing her anterior cruciate ligament at the age of 16.
In addition to her refereeing career, she boasts a substantial following of 442k on Instagram, where she shares glimpses of her extravagant lifestyle.
Recently, the talented referee drew public attention after an intimate video of her surfaced online.
Unfortunately, this incident significantly impacted her career, as the Turkish Football Federation reportedly revoked her license.
Elif Karaarslan Firmly Denies Her Involvement in the Viral Video
The 25-year-old faced heavy backlash for being involved with an individual three times older than her.
Nevertheless, she refutes all the allegations against her and claims it is not her and that someone forged it using AI technology.

Throughout the ordeal, maintained her innocence and pledged to take legal action to restore her reputation.
Her lawyer commented on the situation, stating,
A montaged video was published on social media, created entirely through AI from someone else’s social media account, with no relation to my client. Taking into consideration this montage video, created with malicious and deliberate intentions, poses a threat to anyone facing similar accusations in the future
According to Elif, this incident not only violated her privacy but also tarnished her reputation in the male-dominated field.
She further stated,
I will have a long road ahead legally, but will overcome in the strongest and most robust way. Crying, screaming and being sad are not things I would do. That is not me. I will stand by my cause until the end. I am just one of many who are being harmed – I hope I am the last.
This bold statement demonstrated her strong mental strength and resilience in her quest to clear her name and prove her innocence.
Additionally, Erdemir also denied his involvement in the trending video, defending his reputation amid the scandal.
TFF Issues Lifetime Ban Despite Elif Karaarslan’s Claims of Innocence
Despite their claim, investigated the case and suspended both individuals for violating the professional conduct standards.
Consequently, the decision faced public scrutiny, as the authenticity of the video had yet to be confirmed.
Following the investigation, the disciplinary council of TFF issued a 90-day and 45-day suspension for Elif Karaarslan and Orhan Erdemir respectively.

As the controversy intensified, the committee opted to take additional measures and ultimately revoked both Karaarslan’s and Erdemir’s licenses.
This decision permanently banned both individuals from officiating future matches, severely affecting their careers.
This incident has therefore not only ended two careers but also ignited debates on ethics, privacy, and the balance between individual rights and organizational responsibilities in sports.
