Ozzie Newsome and his wife, Gloria, met as a student in Alabama during his senior year and tied the knot after dating for some time.

Throughout his 13-year playing career, he set franchise records with 662 receptions and 7,980 yards while scoring 47 touchdowns.

His excellence on the field led to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.

After retiring as a player, Newsome transitioned into football operations, eventually becoming the NFL’s first African-American general manager with the Baltimore Ravens in 2002.
