Former Athlete James Blossom, 79, Passed Away, Leaving Behind His Wife, Diane Hadley!

James Oliver Blossom passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on March 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on June 3, 1945, James, aka Jim, was a single child of Jay and Mildred Blossom.

He was an athlete from a young age, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. Later, he transitioned into a hunting instructor.

James Blossom Is Survived By His Wife, Diana, And Their Five Children!

Jim grew up in Fairfield, Montana, where he developed a love for the outdoors, hunting, and animals.

He graduated from Fairfield High School, excelling in sports, especially track, where he set a javelin record.

Additionally, he was a talented athlete who loved football, basketball, and baseball.

After briefly attending Great Falls Commercial College, he dedicated himself to his career and family.

In 1966, he married his sweetheart, Diane Hadley, and together they raised five children: Yvette (Mike) West, Don (Jami) Blossom, Travis (Lani) Blossom, Aimée (Paul) Jones, Sheila (Peter) Ekegren.

Jim worked for the Montana Department of Transportation for 40 years and retired as Materials Supervisor in 2008.

Known for his adventurous spirit, Jim loved hunting and nature. As a young boy, he cared for stray animals that crossed his path.

Also, he served as the chief Hunter Safety Instructor and the Chief Bow Hunter Instructor for approximately 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Diane, their five children, 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Moreover, he was preceded in death by his parents.

His admirers expressed their tributes through heartfelt messages on social media.

Many also personally visited the family to offer support during this difficult time. Our heartfelt condolences go out to James Blossom’s family, friends, and admirers.
