Larry Bird, an American former professional basketball player, coach, and executive in the NBA, has accumulated a significant net worth of $50 million from his exceptional sports career.

Beginning his basketball journey at a very young as a local basketball star, Larry Bird is one of the best players in the NBA of all time.

Raised in French Lick, Indiana, the former NBA star initially chose to play basketball to escape his family troubles and began playing at Springs Valley High School in 1974.

During high school, Larry scored an average of 31 points, 21 rebounds, and 4.0 assists as a senior and became the school’s all-time scoring leader.

With his exceptional basketball skills, Bird received a scholarship to play college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers. However, he dropped out of school and returned to French Lick, enrolling at Northwood University and working municipal jobs for a year.

Larry then joined Indiana State University in Terre Haute in 1975 and played for the Sycamores, helping them reach the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history.

He has accumulated considerable earnings from his career, from choosing basketball to escape from family problems to becoming a basketball legend.

Larry Bird began his professional journey with the Boston Celtics of the NBA in 1979 and led his team to several victories for over 13 years.

He initially signed a 5 year $3,250,000 contract with the Boston Celtics, including an average annual salary of $650k, the highest-paid salary at that time.

Larry Bird earned around $25 million throughout his NBA career; adding his other incomes, including bonuses, he accumulated a total of around $30 million, adding to his net worth.

Moreover, in 1997, he joined the Indiana Pacers of the NBA as their head coach 1997; despite having no prior coaching experience, Bird led the Pacers to a 58-24 record.

For his efforts, he was named the NBA Coach of the Year; Larry resigned his head coaching position right after the end of the 2000 season.
