Thomas “Tommy” Huey Rawls, an accomplished athlete in his younger years, passed away peacefully at his home on April 20, 2026, at the age of 76.
While no specific cause of death was mentioned, it was likely due to natural causes.
He was a state championship basketball player and state tennis champion. Also, he was involved in church business and the community.

Thomas Huey “Tommy” Rawls, born on September 30, 1948, was a dedicated member of the Crossett, Arkansas, community.
He was a talented athlete, winning state championships in basketball and tennis.
While he didn’t pursue a professional athletic career, his achievements in basketball and tennis earned him respect.
In reference to his professional life, he started his career as a teacher and football coach before working in banking.

He also cherished his role as “Papaw,” treasuring time with his grandchildren.
Moreover, his background as a standout athlete gave him a deep understanding of sports and competitions.
While his coaching career was a significant part of his early professional life, Tommy later transitioned into banking and business.
He joined the Guy Nolley Agency and later became a branch manager at First National Bank, which he ultimately purchased.
Additionally, he became the owner of a successful real estate and insurance agency, Rawls Campbell Agency, and a licensed real estate broker.
He was deeply involved in his church and various local groups, always ready to help others.
Being a member and past president of the Prairie Country Club, he actively participated in golf and tennis.
However, his absence left a void in the club, where his leadership had shaped many experiences.
His community and family are mourning his loss and paying tribute via various media.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, J. Frank Rawls and Willie Jo Brooks Rawls, his sister Barbara Rawls Sawyer, and his daughter Leigh Ann Robertson.
