Baseball Coach Bobby Cuellar and his wife, Nora Cuellar, were happily married for several decades. The Texas couple raised three kids who are involved in fields other than sports.
Born in Alice, Texas, Cuellar graduated from the University of Texas and was of Mexican-American descent.
The Texas Rangers selected Cuellar as a 29th-round pick in the 1974 MLB draft.
In his 11 years of playing career, Cuellar spent 10 years in the minor league. One of these teams involved Nuevo Laredo, a Mexican League team.
Cuellar made his MLB debut in 1977 and played four games. He didn’t make any impact during this time and had an ERA+ of 322 and an ERA of 1.35.
While playing in the minor league, Cuellar started his coaching career with the Seattle Mariners.
He coached them for two seasons and later became the manager of the minor league team Wausau Timbers.
Cuellar involved himself with various teams, including MLB and minor league throughout his career.
Before his demise, Bobby was serving as the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league team special assistant to player development.
Cuellar passed away on January 20, 2026, after suffering a heart attack, at age 72.

Coach Bobby Cuellar’s two daughters, Tiffany, and Emma, have made careers away from the sports field.
Tiffany Cuellar Needham graduated with a finance degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003.
After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, Tiffany worked as a teacher at Houston ISD.
After working two years as a teacher, Tiffany joined Teach for America as a Manager in 2006.
She took up various positions at Teach for America and climbed up the ranks every year.
In 2015, Tiffany was promoted to Vice President of the Program, and eight months later she became the Executive Director.
Tiffany is available on and shares two kids with her husband and has shared several family photos.
The Cueller family’s youngest child, Emma Cuellar Stone, graduated from the same university as her sister in 2012 with a public relations degree.
Before graduating, Emma worked as an intern at Great Communicate and later at The Kraft Heinz Company as a spokesperson.
Since 2013, Emma has been working at SHI International Group, an IT company she joined as an Inside Account Executive.
She is currently SHI International Group’s Commercial Sales Coach, a role she has had since 2026.
Emma is married to Erik Stone, with whom she shares a daughter. She has shared a few pictures of her family on her and has yet to share a tribute for her dad.
