Former NBA player Rajon Rondo was arrested in Jackson County, Indiana, for speeding while driving a car without a license plate.

Police officers noticed his black Tesla sedan speeding without a license plate and pulled him over for a check.

Further, police detected the smell of marijuana from the car, which led them to search.

During the search, police a gun and drug paraphernalia, and Rondo himself admitted to having marijuana.

Following his confession, Rajon Rondo was placed in the police cruiser and arrested. The news quickly spread on the internet, causing a significant buzz.

Police Officers Recognized Rajon Rondo As An NBA Player In The Arrest Video!

On October 20, 2026, the body cam footage of the arrest of Rajon Rondo was by TMZ, which quickly went viral on the internet.

The video captured the exact moment when the troopers recognized the NBA Champion as a former NBA player.

TMZ just released body cam footage of Rajon Rondo being pulled over for driving 100 mph in his Tesla with his son. During the stop, the officer claimed to smell marijuana, searched the car, found a gun, and arrested him 👀

In the video, is pulled over while driving 100 mph in his Tesla with his son in the car.

Additionally, one of the officers Rajon as a player, and in the video, he is heard saying:

He’s a former basketball player. He played for a bunch of NBA teams. Not that i care, I’m just telling you.

Later, one of the cops on the scene further inquired him about his NBA career, asking:

You played in the NBA, did’nt you, buddy?

After Rondo answered yes, the officer exclaimed, “Wow!”.

However, during the search, police found Rajon in possession of a firearm and drugs, which led to his arrest.

Rajon Pleaded Guilty to a Gun Charge, Resolving the Case With a Sentence of Probation!

The four-time NBA all-star reached a plea deal with prosecutors to close the case with an agreement.

According to , he pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun, and his other charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia—were dropped.

Further, Rondo was sentenced to 180 days in jail; however, the sentence was suspended, allowing him to serve his time on probation instead.

His attorney reportedly argued that the gun charge was unconstitutional but ultimately reached a plea agreement.

In September 2026, Rajon’s case was closed, resulting in him receiving probation and reaching a deal.
