Griffin Nelson Race, who played 8th-grade football for Oak Mountain Middle School in Birmingham, AL, is facing serious legal charges.
Race was also a member of the Oak Mountain High School basketball team, where he expressed his gratitude to for providing him with the best senior year experience.
He has been arrested for illegal acts, including trying to contact a child online, sharing inappropriate material with minors, and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sexual act.
These charges are related to events that took place between 2015 and 2026.

Griffin Race has been booked in Shelby County, Alabama, on multiple charges of contributing to the delinquency, dependency, or need for supervision.
It came shortly after he posted on Instagram about leaving a part-time field talent staff member position at Chick-fil-A Greystone.
The post received comments comparing him to figures like Diddy and Chris Hansen, and some people asked when he would be released from jail.
