The funeral service of Monica will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH.

The Stony Brook community announced tha tragic passing of Monica Myers, a former student-athlete of the Stony Brook Women’s Tennis team.

Born on February 16, 1986, Monica Myers, where she played Tennis and was named Rookie of the Year in 2001 and Most Valuable Player in 2004.

In the 2004-05 season, she teamed up with Chovanova to win at No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-4 against Fairfield.

Her most significant moment in sports was winning the deciding game for the PSAL championship in her first year.

She went to Stony Brook University to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and later her MBA from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Former Tennis Player Monica Myers Passed Away At The Age Of 39

Monica Myers, a former Stony Brook Women’s Tennis team student-athlete, died on Monday, March 31, 2026, at 39. However, the cause of death has not been mentioned.

Stony Brook Athletics took to their social media handle, Monica’s loss, and prayed for her family. They wrote,

Our Seawolf family mourns the loss of Monica Myers, a former Stony Brook women’s tennis student-athlete. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monica’s friends, families and loved ones during this difficult time

New York resident Evelyn White also offered her heartfelt condolences to Monica’s family by stating,

Per the , a viewing will be held on Friday, April 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at BENTA’s 630 St. Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10030.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH, 132 W 116th St, New York, NY 10026.

Monica will always be remembered for her unforgettable contributions as a tennis player and business development intern at Google. Rest in Peace, Monica Myers.

Monica Myers Is Survived By Her Parents And One Brother

Monica Myers’ mother, JoAnn Frances Myers, and father, Tyrone Johnson, are mourning the tragic death of their daughter. They have always supported Monica in achieving her athletic dreams.

JoAnn’s  handle shows that she is originally from New York and lives in Staten Island. She is serving as a facilities coordinator at Mitsubishi International Corporation.

Monica’s father, Tyrone, has avoided social media, so little is known about his personal life.

On April 6, 2026, Monica’s brother, Tyrone Johnson, a University of Albany graduate, took to his official Facebook handle to  the tragic death of his sister, Monica. He wrote,

With humble acceptance of God’s will, and with heavy hearts and in deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Monica Ruth Myers, a cherished sister, devoted daughter, loving granddaughter, treasured niece and cousin, loyal friend, and inspiring mentor. Her grace, love, and light enriched all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered.

In the comment section, relatives and close friends poured their heartfelt condolences and prayers to Myers’ family to stay strong in this difficult time. One person wrote,
