Anadolu Efes (2013–2017)

Korkmaz played for the junior team of Efes in his first year at the Efes club. In 2013 he moved to the Turkish 2nd-tier level TB2L team Pertevniyal, the farm club of Anadolu Efes. His salary was $250,000. 

In 2014, Korkmaz joined the senior men’s team of Anadolu Efes with a contract of $2 Million.

On June 13, 2016, he was selected as one of the 13 international men to enter the 2016 NBA draft. Korkmaz was drafted as the 26th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Despite getting selected for the NBA, Korkmaz returned to Anadolu Efes for one season. 

Banvit (2016-2017)

Korkmaz played for Banvit in December 2016. With Korkmaz in the team, Banvit won the Turkish Cup in February 2017, the club’s first trophy. Korkmaz brilliantly displayed his game and stunned the team and the viewers during the season.

The Turkish player won the Best Young Player award in the 2016-2017 season of the European-wide third-tier level.

The same year, he succeeded in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) as the initiator, followed by others.

In the 2018 NBA Summer League, Korkmaz got the opportunity to play for the Philadelphia 76ers. He scored 40 points, consisting of 8 three-pointers in the team’s first game.

Korkmaz played well in the first half. However, the 76ers lost the game to Boston Celtics with 89-95 points. Korkmaz’s performance was among the five best scores in NBA Summer League. 

Korkmaz recorded 18 points in the match against the Detroit Pistons on December 10, 2018, which led the 76ers to victory. 

Korkmaz started his career on December 12 by replacing as the player had an injury.

Season (2019-2026)

On July 25, 2019, Korkmaz extended his contract with Philadelphia for the next two years. He played as the shooting guard and in the position of small forward for the whole season. However, his place in the starting lineup was not constant.

Korkmaz scored against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 2 and won the game despite all the trials. 

On February 7, 2026, the Philadelphia 76ers were up against the Memphis Grizzlies, where Korkmaz recorded his career-high performance with 34 points.

In December 2017, Korkmaz suffered a lisfranc injury on his left foot after playing six games for the club. It was his first NBA season. He had to miss several games during that time.

He had to undergo surgery to address the damage.
