Georgia Bulldogs Football Director, Mike Bilbow, Passes Away, Leaving His Parents

Mike Bilbow, a cherished member of the Georgia Bulldogs community, has sadly passed away. He was known for his significant contributions to the University of Georgia’s athletic programs, particularly in digital and production roles.

Mike leaves behind his wife, Molly, two sons, Jackson and Connor, and his father, Jack.

The University of Georgia and the entire Bulldog Nation mourn the sudden passing of Mike Bilbow, the dedicated and passionate Football Director for the Georgia Bulldogs.

He was pivotal in building the Georgia Bulldogs’ digital media presence across two impactful tenures with the program.

His first stint began in 2009 as the Bulldogs’ Executive Director of New Media for IMG College, where he led the team that pioneered content creation for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Over the next five years, he laid the groundwork for what has become a cornerstone of the university’s online identity.

In 2014, Bilbow took on a new challenge as part of the College Football Hall of Fame’s inaugural leadership team in Atlanta.

As Vice President of Content and Production, he directed interactive exhibits, IT operations, and guest experiences.

Moreover, he returned to Athens as the assistant athletic director of digital and production for the University of Georgia Athletic Association.

He oversaw live television broadcasts, stadium video productions, social media strategy, and digital content development.

Unfortunately, his passing saddened the whole community; many remembered him in their heartfelt tribute.

Georgia Athletics mourns the loss of beloved staff member and friend, Mike Bilbow. Our prayers are with the Bilbow family during this difficult time.

Mike Bilbow’s Family Mourns The Tragic Loss

Mike Bilbow was born in 1968 and passed away at 57. Although some sources have claimed he passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, his family hasn’t revealed the actual cause.

, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Mike was a pillar of the UGA athletics community and served the Bulldogs with unwavering loyalty for over a decade. He played a crucial role in the program’s success on and off the field.

Coaches, players, and colleagues respected him for his leadership, kindness, and tireless work ethic. His contributions helped shape championship teams and fostered a culture of excellence within Georgia football.

He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who turned his passion into a career.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike was a devoted husband, father, and son, always putting family first. His wife, children, and father survive him.

His wife, Molly Bilbow, is a designer who likes to doodle and paint. She is a Georgi-lahoma girl with a page for her designs, .

Celebrate him. Remember the stories. Tell them all when you meet. Be big and loud and kind, like he was.

On the other hand, his mother preceded him in death.

Mike’s family will hold a celebration of his life for close friends and family, with a private burial to follow.

Instead of flowers, the Bilbow family requests donations to the charity or athletic fund in his honor.

Woke up to the very hard news that Mike Bilbow, my oldest friend — 50+ years, since Ms. Carreiro’s kindergarten class — passed away after a battle with cancer. I don’t have the right words yet; I’m not really even going to try today. He was a good friend for my entire life. I’m going to miss him terribly. My heart goes out to Molly and their sons, and to his father and brother. Godspeed, my friend.

His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched in the world of college football and within his cherished family.
