Monte McNair, former president of basketball operations for the Sacramento Kings, and his wife welcomed their fourth child in 2026.
General Manager Monte McNair and the Sacramento Kings have agreed to two years after McNair helped end the NBA’s longest playoff drought.
A person familiar with the decision said the sides mutually agreed on a breakup shortly after the Kings’ season ended Wednesday night with a 120-106 loss to Dallas in the Play-In Tournament.
McNair was by Sacramento before the start of the 2026-21 season and helped put together the team that ended a 16-season playoff drought in 2026, going 48-34 to finish third in the Western Conference.
However, the upcoming general manager will be the fifth lead executive since owner Vivek Randive took over the team.
The Kings have gone through nine coaches in that span, including interims, and have the fifth-worst record in the NBA.
Former Kings’ General Manager Monte McNair And His Wife Share Four Children
Monte McNair has kept his wife’s identity away from the media spotlight. His wife has been resilient following Monte’s removal from the Sacramento Kings.
However, it is known that he shares four children with his wife.
On March 27, 2026, co-host of The Insiders, James Ham, took to his Twitter handle and that Monte’s wife gave birth to their third child. He wrote,
Monte McNair confirmed that his wife just gave birth to their third child a few days ago. Crazy couple of weeks for the McNair family.
James Ham again took to his handle on June 23, 2026, and announced that Monte and his wife were blessed with a fourth child. He wrote,
Monte McNair just mentioned that his wife just gave birth to their fourth child 9 days ago. That’s the second new addition to the McNair family since he took over the team.
In the comment section, Monte’s fans and close ones welcomed the newborn. One person wrote,

In 2026, Monte McNair, the former general manager of the Sacramento Kings, publicly shared his son’s moment with the Kings’ iconic victory beam, which was unveiled early in the 2026-23 NBA season.
During the with NBC Sports California’s broadcaster Mark Jones, Monte said that although his son had seen the beam from their house, about 10 minutes from Golden 1 Center, he took him into the arena to watch it.
After seeing the beam up close for the first time, McNair’s son said, “Daddy, I can’t believe I saw the beam up close.”
However, he has also kept his children’s identities private.
