Despite these hardships, he remained committed to his dreams of playing football, a journey requiring immense strength, faith, and perseverance.

Though sometimes absent, Grant’s father, Truce Dawayne Stuard, eventually became a source of guidance and inspiration.

Truce is a dedicated builder and contractor at Stuard Home & Design, a family-owned business.

Growing up in Spring, Texas, and attending in 1995, Truce developed a strong work ethic that influenced Grant’s perspective on life and hard work.

In later years, Truce’s role as a mentor has proven invaluable to Grant, offering insight into the power of dedication and strength.

These values have become fundamental to Grant’s journey in the NFL.

Grant’s mother, Laurel Montgomery, also had a challenging past, beginning a battle with addiction in her teenage years.

From her first experience with drugs at 16 to the difficulties of sustaining a stable life, Laurel’s journey was fraught with obstacles.

She eventually turned her life around after multiple overdoses, a journey to recovery that began with her enrollment in Turning Point, a rehab facility in Tampa, Florida.

During this challenging time, Grant played a vital role in his family’s stability by assuming custody of his younger sister, Samaria, to protect her from the hardships of their environment.

With time, Laurel became a source of inspiration for her son as she overcame her struggles and began supporting others on their road to recovery as a Turning Point employee.
