Darian DeVries, who recently became the head basketball coach of the Indiana University men’s basketball team, celebrates his new achievement with his longtime wife, Ashley, and two kids.

Indiana University officially announced the news of hiring Darian DeVries as the head coach of their men’s basketball player on March 18, 2026.

Prior to the recent announcement, Darian DeVries served as the head coach of Drake University from 2018 to 2026 and West Virginia University for one season.

While serving as Drake University’s head coach, he led the Bulldogs to several victories and won several honorable titles, including the High Durham Award and two-time MVC coach of the year.

Throughout his exceptional coaching journey, his wife Ashley and two kids have remained his constant source of support.

Talking about his wife, Ashley, while very little information about her professional life is available, she often shares her husband and kids’ achievements on her social media, expressing her love for them.

Both Of Darian DeVries Kids, Tucker And Tatum, Followed In His Footsteps In Sports

Darian DeVries instilled the passion and love for basketball in both his son Tucker and daughter Tatum.

Both of his kids are excelling in basketball. Darian’s son Tucker Dale DeVries, born on December 7, 2002, in Omaha, Nebraska, currently plays college basketball for the West Virginia Mountaineers of the Big 12 Conference.

Prior to that, Tucker showcased his exceptional basketball skills playing for the Drake Bulldogs under his father’s guidance from 2026 to 2026.

Moreover, Tucker began his basketball journey while attending Elkhorn South High School in Nebraska; however, after his freshman, he transferred to Waukee High School, where he was named Iowa Mr. Basketball in his senior year.

With his exceptional basketball skills, Tucker was rated a four-star recruit and the best overall recruit from his class in the state of Iowa.

While playing for the Drake Bulldogs, Tucker won several honorable titles, including two times MVC Player of the Year, MVC tournament MVP, and First-team All-MVC.

In addition to his son, Darian’s daughter Tatum excels in basketball and plays for the Waukee NW girls Basketball team.

Tatum DeVries is a shooting guard in the 2027 class and club basketball for All Iowa Attack.

• Darian Dale DeVries was born on April 7, 1975, in Aplington, Iowa, United States, and began his basketball journey while playing for the Aplington High School men’s basketball team.
• He played college basketball at Northern Iowa from 1994 to 1998, and after graduation, he joined Creighton University as a graduate manager in its men’s basketball program.
