In 1992, Jeff was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Charles Barkley, where he took on the role of a point guard instead of his usual shooting guard position.

Later in the 1993-1994 season, the Utah Jazz traded for him, allowing him to return to his usual shooting guard position.

Moreover, he played an instrumental role in helping the Jazz reach the NBA finals in both 1997 and 1998.

Tragically, his professional playing career came to an end due to severe knee complications in 2000.

Following His Retirement, Jeff Pursued a Successful NBA Coaching Career

After his retirement from his playing career, the Utah Jazz hired Jeff as their special assistant coach.

Later in February 2011, after Jerry Sloan and Phil Johnson’s departure, he became a full assistant coach with the Utah Jazz.

On May 28, 2013, he was appointed as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns and received the NBA Coach of the Month award in December 2013.

Later, the Phoenix Suns fired him on February 1, 2016, after two and a half seasons with the team.

The celebrated coach later worked with prominent teams like the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets.

Thus, he achieved several notable milestones during his coaching career, leading his team to success.

Currently, he is working as a coaching consultant with the of the National Basketball Association(NBA).
