Joseph A. Sordillo, 87, Former Athlete, Dies Leaving His Five Kids Behind

Retired pharmacist and former athlete Joseph A. Sordillo died on February 13, 2026, at 87. Sordillo was a talented football player during his heyday before he decided to shift his career towards the medical field.
Native to Massachusetts, Sordillo previously lived in Tweksbury and Somerville before taking his last breath at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.
As a high school student, Sordillo showed interest in football and adult softball. He also enjoyed playing street hockey and watching tennis.
During his lifetime, Sordillo also received the opportunity to serve his country and was part of the US Army for two years.
He was honorably discharged in 1962, and it was during his time in the Army that he met his wife.
The former military man is survived by his five kids-Mary Berquist, Joseph Jr., John, Robert, and Nicole Miller.
Joseph will receive military honors on March 1 from 2 to 5 PM at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home in Tewksbury.

Ethel died on April 21, 2011, at age 72. She was born on February 5, 1939, and was one of seven children of William and Mary Lou Green.
Ethel graduated from Marietta High School and worked as an examiner for 20 years in the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.

In her , Joseph has been mentioned as her former husband and it looks like Joseph and Ethel didn’t marry anyone else after their divorce.
While Ethel closely followed the Boston Red Sox, Joseph was a major football fan, especially of the New England Patriots.
Ethel’s obituary doesn’t mention Nicole Miller as one of her kids. It states that she is survived by four kids.

Not all of Joseph A. Sordillo’s kids are available on social media but three out of five of them who are available are yet to share any posts about his demise.
Joseph’s eldest child, Mary Berquist, graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School and currently lives in Methuen.
Her last post was in July 2026, and she has previously shared a few posts with her family.
Joseph’s other daughter, , lives in Washington with her husband, Bill Miller.
Bill is originally from Kewanee, Illinois, and is a former owner of Smiling Dog Pet Services.
Joseph’s son,, lives in Pelham, New Hampshire, and is a graduate of UMass Lowell.
Like his sisters, Rob has also refrained from sharing any posts about his dad.
