Paul Arizin and his wife, Maureen McAdams Arizin, were married for over 54 years and passed away just two months apart.

Paul Joseph Arizin, famously known as Pitchin’ Paul, was among the greatest American basketball players ever to enter the court.

Born in 1928, he became one of the most celebrated National Basketball Association players in the 1950s.

Aarizin’s parents were French immigrants to the United States, and he grew up in a modest household with other siblings.

He exchanged vows with Maureen McAdams during the same era when he was climbing the feats of basketball.

The late couple’s marriage sustained until Paul’s demise. Eventually, Maureen passed away just months after his passing.

Paul Arizin and Maureen McAdams’s marriage lasted over five decades with love and compassion.

Based on reports, the couple tied the holy knot on October 18, 1952. It was around the time when he was climbing peaks in basketball.

They shared common values and deep affection, which helped them navigate through everything on the way.

Despite his busy career, the late couple built a family together. The love for the sport still flows in the blood of the current generation of the Arizin family.

According to Maureen’s , she was born around 1930 or 1931. She was 76 during her demise on February 17, 2007.

Unfortunately, there are no detailed reports about their relationship and marriage. She stood behind to care for her family and kids during Paul’s absence.

Unlike couples during their days, Paul and Maureen had two years of age difference and were both in their 20s.

They were always meant to be together, and everything happened likewise. The most disturbing news of Paul’s passing came on December 12, 2006.

He was 78 when he died peacefully in his sleep at their home in suburban Philadelphia. The legend’s passing marked the end of the era in basketball.

However, it didn’t end there; just within two months of his death, Maureen unexpectedly left the world.

The shock of the husband’s passing and the pain of losing the person whom she lived with all her life didn’t let her live long.

 in their lifetime, built a family and left behind a legacy to continue to kids and grandkids.

After their marriage on October 18, 1952, they had five children: four sons and one daughter.

The names of their four sons were Michael, Timothy, Dennis Christopher Arizin, and Alicia Arizin, whereas Sterling was the family’s only daughter.

Michael Arizin, aka Mike, played basketball at William & Mary and later transferred to La Salle University in the 1970s.

He and his wife, Patricia, have several children, including a son, Gabe. Gabe continued to play basketball and carry on his granddad’s legacy forward.

Timothy is the other son of Paul and Maureen. According to Maureen’s obituary, their other son, Dennis, is married to Debbie.

Christopher Arizin also played basketball at Drexel University in the 1980s. He was already a family man at the time of his parents’ passing.

The only daughter of the Arizin family, Alicia Sterling, is no more. She passed away from cancer in 2019.

Alicia had two sons, Paul D. Somers III and Max A. Somers, with her husband, Charles Sterling.

The Arizin family still has basketball in their blood, and while most of the second generation, after Paul, are inactive, their kids carry the baton.
