Celebrating over two decades of marriage, Matt Light and his wife Susie continue to make a significant impact through their dedicated involvement in philanthropy.
Matthew Charles Light is a professional football player who played as an offensive tackle for the New England Patriots of the NFL.
Born on June 23, 1978, he spent his entire 11-year career with the New England Patriots, From 2001 to 2011.
During his time with the Patriots, he was a key part of the team’s offensive line. He helped them win three Super Bowl championships (XXXVI, XXXVIII, and XXXIX).
Matt Light was known for his strong blocking skills. He was selected for the Pro Bowl three times and named to the All-Pro team once.
Matt Light Met His Wife, Susie, While At Purdue
After dating for about three years, Matt Light walked down the aisle with his wife, Susie, a native of Hammond.
They met while attending Purdue University together and started dating during their time there.
Around that time, Matt began his professional football career. The New England Patriots drafted him in the second round of the 2001 NFL, and the same year, he married his sweetheart, Susie.
The couple has four children together: Collin, William, Anna, and Gracie.
His career started with a hit, and he quickly became an integral part of the Patriots’ offensive line. He helped the team win its first Super Bowl during the 2001 season.
In an interview with WHDH in 2017, Matt and Susie described how they met and started dating.
Regarding Matt’s first meeting with her mother, Susie stated:
My mom was in town and Matt came in and went up to her and said ‘Hi! I’m Matt Light, and I’m going to marry your daughter’ and she said, ‘Stand in line buddy and walked away. But Matt didn’t give up, and says it’s the best decision he ever made!
