Sebastien “Sebby” Roland Edouard Breton, a junior at McDaniel College, sadly passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2026, in his dorm room. Meanwhile, the cause of his demise is still unknown.

The 21-year-old Sebby Breton is survived by his parents, and Renald J. Breton, and his sisters, and Bianca Breton.

Neither of his parents have broken their silence surrounding Breton’s untimely demise.

Likewise, his sister Isabella, a student at Robert H. Smith School of Business, has yet to speak out. She graduated from Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School in 2026.

Sebby Breton was born on September 26, 2003, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC, to parents Renald and Florence Breton and was raised in Potomac, Maryland.

He graduated from Churchill High School in 2026. He started running in his freshman year by joining the cross country and track teams, without much pressure or high expectations.

However, with hard work and a never-give-up attitude, he became an outstanding athlete and was honored as a Washington Post All-Met runner by the time he finished high school.

Sebby brought the same determination to McDaniel College, where he worked hard on both his studies and sports as part of the Cross Country and Track & Field teams.

Breton showcased exceptional promise and dedication during his freshman season in 2026-2026.

He started strong at the Bison Opener, running a season-best time of 2:10.32 in the 800-meter race and finishing second in the 3000-meter with a time of 9:05.66.

At the Mini-Dip Invite, he kept up his great performance by setting his best time of the season in the 5000-meter race at 16:19.62.

His competitive spirit carried through to the 2026 Centennial Conference Indoor Championships, where he clocked 16:32.77 in the 5000-meter run, earning a place among the top contenders.

At McDaniel, he made his mark by ranking 8th in the 5000-meter and 9th in the 3000-meter among the program’s all-time top performers.

Family and friends can visit Pumphrey’s Colonial Funeral Home at 300 W. Montgomery Ave, Rockville, MD, on Sunday, April 13, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A Roman Catholic funeral Mass will take place at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1513 Dunster Road, Rockville, MD, on Monday, April 14, 2026, at 12 noon.

During this difficult time, we extend our deepest sympathy to Breton’s parents, sisters, friends, and extended family.
