In a recent interview with the , Mark Wilf, co-owner of the Vikings, expressed his joy in working with the coach, saying:
We’re looking forward to a great future with these guys, We look forward to having those conversations with each of them after the season. We have tremendous confidence, and we look forward to their continued leadership of the franchise.
While there were other promising candidates on the list for coaching trades, Kevin’s name came as a surprise to many.
Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer talked about him being a potential candidate on the morning of January 5, :

One of the major reasons for his trade is that he hasn’t engaged in any contract negotiations, and this is the final year of his deal.
