Nick Sorensen was born in Winter Haven, Florida, on July 31, 1978. He is the for the San Francisco 49ers, as well as a former safety.

Sorensen grew up in Vienna, Virginia, and went to George C. Marshall High. He lettered for three seasons in football, basketball, and baseball.

He was honored in the George C. Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame. Sorensen was a four-year letterman while playing for the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The Miami Dolphins signed Sorensen as an undrafted amateur free agent on April 27, 2001, but dismissed him before the season began.

He later signed with the St. Louis Rams in 2001 and played for two seasons.
