Northfield High School Mourns the Loss of Student-Athlete Sylvester Huyck

Sylvester Huyck, a junior at Northfield High School, passed away on February 14, 2026, at a young age, leaving his parents and loved ones devastated.
Huyck from apparent heart failure as a result of a pre-existing condition.
Northfield Public School took to their official site to announce the untimely death of their student Sylvester Huyck.
They wrote,
“Dear Northfield school district families, we have some terrible news to share with you today. Sylvester Huyck, a junior at Northfield High School, died on Friday night. Sylvester passed away from apparent heart failure as a result of a pre-existing condition.”
The school also requested that the school community respect the privacy of Sylvester Huyck’s parents during this difficult time.
Moreover, a large group of friends supports Sylvester’s family and closest friend, and many send their heartfelt condolences to his family.
Northfield High School gave students a holiday on Monday, February 17, 2026, in memory of Sylvester Huyck.
Sylvester Huyck Was a Track Star At Northfield High School
The late Sylvester Huyck excelled in both academics and sports during his junior year at Northfield High School.
Sylvester was a track star playing for the Northfield High School track and field team.

With his exceptional running skills, he led his team to several victories and made an impactful impression.
In addition to track, Sylvester also showcased his exceptional skills by involving himself in several other sports.
Similarly, the entire Northfield community is mourning the loss of their star athlete, Sylvester Huyck.
A resident of Minnesota, Sylvester was known not only for his exceptional sports skills but also for his kind and humble nature.
He was also involved in several extracurricular activities and was a great friend to his classmates.
While very little information about his personal life, including the details of his family, is available, Sylvester Huyck will always be remembered for his remarkable sports journey and kind nature.
