Patrick Christopher is an American former professional basketball player. He was a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10 during college.

Christopher was in a college basketball for California Golden Bears. 

He played in the NBA briefly and shone with the Utah Jazz in 2014-2015. Christopher played the role of shooting guard and small forward position.

He has also played in France and Turkey and won the President’s Cup in 2012 with Besiktas Istanbul.

He played as a senior for the Golden Bears and averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists.

In the history of Golden Bear, he was ranked third in his Cal career with 1,700 points and fourth in three-pointers attained with 164.

Professional Career

After being undrafted in the 2010 NBA Draft, Patrick Christopher joined the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Summer League.

He played the 2010-2011 season for Antalya BB in Turkey. The former basketball player averaged 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.7 assists in 28 games.

Christopher signed with Cholet Basket of the French LNB Pro A in December 2011, averaging 12.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 26 games.

He signed with the Sacramento Kings for the NBA Summer League in July 2012 but did not play for them. 

The former basketball player returned to Turkey to play for Besiktas for the 2012-2013 season.

He scored 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 26 games in the Turkish League.

Moreover, he averaged 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 24 rounds of EuroLeague games.

With Different NBA Teams

Christopher signed with the Bulls on September 27, 2013, but the Bulls waived him on October 2.

Then, on November 1, 2013, he joined the Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League.

He averaged 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 52 games and was even named to the NBA D-League All-Defensive Second Team.

On September 25, 2014, Christopher signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. Just after a month, he was waived by the Grizzlies on October 25.

After that, on October 31, 2014, he was again acquired by Iowa Energy.

Then, he signed with the Utah Jazz on December 10, 2014. Again, he was waived by the Utah Jazz after upholding a knee injury.

He played in four games, averaging 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.3 minutes of action. 

Back To Memphis Grizzlies

Christopher re-signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on September 14, 2015. The Grizzlies again waived him on September 23.

Iowa Energy once again acquired him. However, Iowa Energy deactivated him on November 11.

Then, he came to action on February 16, 2016. He finished the 2015-2016 season in 20 games, averaging 15.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

Patrick Christopher played for the NBA D-League select team in the NBA Summer League in July 2016.

However, Christopher’s journey kept going. He signed with Eisbaren Bremerhaven of the German Basketball Bundesliga on September 11, 2016.

On September 22, 2016, the team disregarded his contract as he could not pass the physical examination.

As a former player, he was a reliable rebounder and liked sniffing down the defensive boards.

Indeed, nobody could stop him on the court, and he’d score from anywhere and was one of the team’s best unblockable and unstoppable athletes.

His career-ending injury in 2014, which happened while playing for the Jazz, reoccurred in his time with Bremerhaven, which led to his failure to pass the physicals.
