Chauncey Billups, widely known as “Mr. Big Shot,” has been married to his high school sweetheart, Piper Billups, for over two decades.
A decorated former NBA player and current Portland Trail Blazers head coach, Chauncey’s career highlights include winning the 2004 NBA championship with the Detroit Pistons and being named Finals MVP.
His 2026 induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame cemented his legacy as one of the greats.
However, behind his monumental success is a supportive wife, Piper Billups.

Born Piper Riley, she attended George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado, where she met her future husband.
A determined and grounded individual, Piper pursued a marketing degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Today, she is a successful realtor at Keller Williams Downtown LLC in Colorado, a role she balances alongside her responsibilities as a wife and mother.
Despite being married to a basketball icon, Piper prefers to stay out of the limelight.
She uses her Instagram account, where she shares updates on her real estate ventures, homes, and inspirational quotes, to connect with her audience of over 900 followers.
Chauncey and Piper, the High School Sweethearts, Married in 2001!
Piper and Chauncey’s story began during high school, and their bond only grew stronger.
The couple tied the knot on July 14, 2001, and have been each other’s pillar of support through the ups and downs of life, including Chauncey’s challenging early NBA days when he was traded during his rookie season with the Boston Celtics.
Piper’s support shaped Chauncey’s perspective, particularly when they welcomed their first child.
According to her, fatherhood and family life played a crucial role in grounding Chauncey during difficult times in his career.
Piper is more than just a supportive spouse; she is a philanthropist dedicated to positively impacting her community.
In 2007, she organized a Hip-Hop “tee” party to raise funds for local children.
Two years later, she founded the Spread Her Wings Foundation, an organization aimed at empowering young women to overcome challenges such as substance abuse and teenage pregnancy.
Her work earned her the “Making a Difference” award from her alma mater, recognizing her contributions to youth development.
Together, Chauncey and Piper have built a beautiful family. They are proud parents of three daughters: Cydney, Ciara, and Cenaiya.
Cydney, a forward for the University of Texas soccer team, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sports management.
Similarly, Ciara is a professional dancer who graduated from USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance in 2026.
On the other hand, Cenaiya is the youngest of the trio and is following her own unique path, supported by her loving parents.
Chauncey often expresses his admiration for his family, emphasizing their importance.
