Jalyah Noel Thompson is survived by her father, Lewis Anthony Thompson, brother, Michael Trevino, sister, Jada Trevino, grandmother, Arlain Thompson, and great aunt, Willie Taylor.

The tragic news of Jalyah Noel Thompson, an 11-year-old girl from Rockford, Illinois, has deeply affected her community.

Jalyah took her own life after being bullied at her school on Friday, February 21, 2026.

Jalyah Noel Thompson, The Emerging Talent, Faded Away Too Soon!

Jalyah Noel Thompson was an 11-year-old girl from Rockford, Illinois. She was born on July 6, 2013, to her father, Lewis Anthony, and her mother, Kendall Noel Trevino.

She was a bright and loving child who enjoyed wearing pink, Hello Kitty fashion, taking selfies, and listening to Billie Eilish and SZA.

Jalyah had a dream of becoming a nail technician. Her family includes her father, Lewis Anthony Thompson, her brother, Michael Trevino, and her sister, Jada Trevino.

Her grandmother, Arlain Thompson, and her great aunt, Willie Taylor, were also significant figures in her life.

Sadly, Jalyah’s mother, Kendall Noel Trevino, had passed away before her.

She attended a school in Rockford, Illinois, where she faced bullying, which ultimately led to her tragic decision.

As per her family, she was an RPS 205 student. , Jalyah’s aunt, shared a touching childhood video of Jalyah Noel with a heartfelt caption,

If she only knew that she was more Loved and Needed than she thought. If only she knew how special she was and how pathetically insecure those bullies are.If only she knew the pain she left with us.My heart and my spirit are devastated and crushed. My baby is gone & I have no idea when I’ll be okay again, but her life was more precious than anything or anyone, her death will definitely be what brings the change to ZERO TOLERANCE TO BULLYING! Jalyah is a Thompson and a Trevino…. We got you Mamita…. We got you… even in death, WE GOT YOU!

Two GoFundMe Campaigns Set Up To Support Jalyah Noel Thompson’s Family!

Her family and community members have started several fundraisers to support her family during this difficult time.

The first campaign, “,” is organized by Darrell Gregg and aims to cover Jalyah’s funeral and memorial expenses.

The second campaign, titled “,” is organized by Steven Thompson and seeks to provide financial support for Jalyah’s family.

Jalyah’s grandmother and uncle have shared heartfelt messages on GoFundMe, emphasizing the impact of bullying and the importance of kindness.

Arlain, in her heartfelt message on GoFundMe, expressed deep sorrow. She emphasized the impact of bullying, stating,

Please join with family and friends who have lost a beautiful girl far too soon. Jalyah Noel Thompson is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Heartbroken, we want others to know that with more kindness and less bullying Jalyah would still be with us today. 

Laura Kane, , has called for parents to be more vigilant and educated about the warning signs of bullying and suicidal thoughts in children.

She emphasizes the need for parents to spend time with their children, validate their feelings, and take action to prevent such tragedies.

Moreover, the community has also been calling for increased awareness and action to prevent bullying and support children’s mental health.
