Elliott’s read, “It’s extremely difficult to step away from the Georgia State football program, particularly the players and staff who have gone above and beyond.”

He further wrote, “As hard as this decision is professional, it’s something I must do personally.” He thanked Charlie Cobbs, Director of Athletics at Georgia State, for giving him the opportunity.

Many fans of the South Carolina Gamecocks have reported that Shawn’s family was still living in Columbia, South Carolina. The fans also confirmed they would run into Shawn several times for a guy coaching in Georgia.
