Skating coach and Cutting Edge Figure Skating Club member Kevin Spada died at 50.
Born in 1974, Kevin was from Palatine but lived with his family in Winnetka, Illinois.
Per Kevin’s official profile, he attended Fremd High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Indianapolis with a 4.0 grade point average.
For over 30 years, he was employed as a professional skating coach, specializing in ice dance, moves in the field, and step sequences.
His coaching excellence was recognized nationally when he served as a U.S. National Coach during the 2011-2012 season.

Professional skater and coach Kevin Spada took his last breath on Friday, April 18, 2026, at 50. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.
Roosevelt University graduate Michael Vivirito took to his official Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Kevin. He ,
We grew up like princes together and one summer we got back together and lived like kings. You will be so missed my dear friend., Kevin Spada I loved you brother and all the times we shared
Operating partner at Fred’s Garage, Cary Michael, offered his heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Kevin’s family. He wrote,
This One Hurts. Didn’t take much to realize that Kevin was a genuine soul with positive energy. Kevin Spada will truly be missed by many, including our family.
Johnny Scheff, a dealer principal at Motoworks Chicago, also remembered his time with Kevin. He wrote,
Kevin Spada – great guy gone far too soon… figure skating coach and mentor to countless young people over decades, fierce barefoot water ski competitor, lover of life, humans and motorcycles. Kevin, thank you for always being kind to me, taking time to chat, and supporting our events. You’ll be missed.
Catherine Hayne also mourned Kevin’s tragic . She wrote,
RIP Kevin Spada No Snowboarding trip will EVER be the same without you. You were an Amazing Figure Skating coach and friend. I’ll never forget you 💔

A professional skater and coach, Kevin Spada shared a strong bond with his sister, Tracee Pristera Spada, who married Tony Pristera.
On April 19, 2026, Tracee took a photo of Kevin and it on her Facebook account as a tribute. In the comment section, friends and relatives sent their prayers. One person wrote,

Another person wrote,
I’m in complete shock, Tracee. I am so sorry to hear this heartbreaking news. Kevin has had an impact on so many lives and he will always be remembered. Much love to you all, my friend. ❤️💔
In addition, Kevin is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Laura Pristera Caringella and Eva Pristera.
Laura pursued her from National-Louis University and serves as an accessibility/assistive technology specialist at Oakton Community College.
On the other hand, served as event manager at GRAPA from April 2008 to January 2013 and is currently serving as corporate customer care at United Airlines.
