The softball community in Oshawa, Ontario, is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Jesse Gould, a cherished player, friend, and family man.

On a somber day in March 31st, 2026, Jesse suffered a massive heart attack that took his life far too soon, leaving behind his devastated parents, his wife Monica Scott, their two young daughters Harper and Emersyn, and countless friends who cherished his infectious spirit.

Jesse was not just a softball player; he was also a cornerstone of the slo-pitch community.

Wearing jersey #32, he proudly played for the ON3 Giants in the Men’s S-P League. His passion for the game was undeniable.

He swung for the fences with every hit and brought a competitive fire that inspired those around him.

But beyond his athletic talent, Jesse was a friend who could light up a dugout with his humor and a mentor who lifted others up.

Born and raised in Oshawa, Jesse was the son of parents who adored softball just as much as he did.

Their love for the sport undoubtedly shaped him into the player he became.

earning a 310-T Truck and Coach Mechanic certification.

After graduating, Jesse started his career at Martinrea International, where he worked in quality assurance for five years.

In 2015, he joined A&B Mechanical Services in Sunderland, Ontario, starting as a truck and coach technician apprentice.

His hard work paid off, as he was promoted to a permanent 310 Truck and Coach Technician position, which he held until his passing.

Jesse’s dedication to his craft mirrored the commitment he showed on the softball diamond.

But Jesse’s life wasn’t defined by work or even softball alone; his family gave him purpose.

He was a devoted husband to Monica Scott and a doting father to Harper and Emersyn, his two beautiful daughters.

Though little is known publicly about his family life, those close to him say he poured his heart into being there for them.

His loss leaves a void that words can’t fully capture, especially for his young girls, who will grow up hearing stories of their dad’s big heart and bigger swings.

The post concluded with a request for privacy as the family faced this unimaginable tragedy.

Friends, too, flooded platforms with memories that brought Jesse’s personality to life. One buddy reflected on their rollercoaster friendship:

“ one of my favorite ppl to ever start out playing softball with. Our relationship was sometime good and then it was sometimes shit! Always agree to disagree on what softball bats we thought were the best of all time and thinking we knew some type of shyt. Lol we were so dumb and still are but that was our friendship. i could count on him to find me a bat or at least lie to me and say he tried lol cause he knows it was a dumb bat to ask for 🤣🤪🏆🎉
looking back i can say it was a good friend ship a real one to be exact. R.I.P BUDDY!!!”

Another friend wrote,

These tributes reveal a man who wasn’t just admired but deeply loved, a guy who could argue about bats one minute and have your back the next.

Jesse was the kind of person who made you want to be better, whether that meant swinging harder, laughing louder, or simply showing up for the people you care about.

His death at such a young age serves as a stark reminder to hold loved ones close and live with intention.

For now, the softball fields of Oshawa feel a little emptier without Jesse Gould in jersey #32.

His parents, his wife, his daughters, and his teammates are left to mourn a man who gave so much to everyone he met.

Though he’s gone, his spirit remains in every crack of a bat, every shared laugh, and every story told about the guy who played hard and loved harder.

Rest in peace, Jesse. You’ll be forever missed.
