Despite being a father of two kids, American sports journalist and NBA analyst for ESPN, Stephen A. Smith doesn’t have a wife yet.

The ESPN sportscaster has never tied the knot and is happy about it.

In a on September 21, 2026, on his YouTube channel, Smith revealed that despite being in his 50s, he never considered having a wife.

Likewise, in the video, Smith stated that even though he is unmarried in his 50s, he is happy about it.

“I’m 55 years old, I’ve never been married, and I’m happy about it“

He also discussed the broken marriages of other celebrities, expressing that it is one of the reasons he hasn’t tied the knot yet.

As an example of a broken marriage, Smith talked about rapper Jeezy’s relationship with his wife, Jeannie Mai, and how they ended their marriage just two years after tying the knot.

Despite stating he is happy with his unmarried life, Smith is not entirely against marriage.

In a Twitter video, Stephen A. Smith stated that he hopes to find a wife someday and hopes to walk down that aisle, stand on the altar, and wait for his beautiful bride.

Although the sportscaster has yet to find his perfect wife, in July 2026, the media spotted him enjoying summer at Barbados beach with a mysterious woman.

In the viral picture, Stephen and his friend can be seen chilling and enjoying their romantic moment. However, Stephen hasn’t officially shared anything about the woman.

Stephen A. Smith Is a Proud Father of Two Daughters!

Despite not having a wife, the NBA analyst and former college point guard Stephen A. Smith is a proud father of two kids.

In a 2019 interview, he revealed that he has two daughters, Samantha and Nyla, with two different women whom he never married.

In the same interview, he credited his kids for helping him find a new lease of life following the demise of his mother, Janet Smith.

Similarly, while promoting his book Straight Shooter: A Memoir of Second Chances and First Takes on in 2026, Smith expressed his love for his daughters.

He stated,

My daughters are everything to me; I make sure that they are taken care of first. My mom was proud of the father I am and I’m very happy and proud of the father I am.

Stephen continued by saying that his two beautiful daughters have made him a much better man and human being.

Talking about his daughters, Stephen’s elder daughter, Samantha A. Smith, was born on August 27, 2008.

Samantha is a screen and best known for playing the younger daughter of Regina Hall and Harold Perrineau in the Peacock limited series The Best Man: The Final Chapters.

Similarly, she is popular for portraying Roxie in the 2026 Disney+ TV series Saturdays.

Her first voiceover commercial was filmed for Disney when Samantha was 9 years old, and a year later, she was cast in a Pop-Tarts commercial.

Off camera, she loves traveling, debating, and managing her school theatre productions.

Very little information about his younger daughter, Nyla, is available as Stephen prefers to keep her out of the public eye.

Stephen and his daughter Nyla were seen sitting in the courtside for the WNBA finals in October 2026.
