Bill Simmons announced that Zach Lowe will host a podcast show on The Ringer Podcast Network.

Zach Lowe, 48, born on August 24, 1977, is an American sportswriter, journalist, and podcaster.

He started his journalism career by covering the criminal justice system in his home state of Connecticut. Later, he transitioned to basketball reporting.

Currently, he is considered one of the premier columnists covering the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He is known for his detailed posts on basketball, use of video clips, and clear writing style.

Zach Lowe Is Joining The Ringers Media Network And Will Host A Podcast Show

On March 30, 2026, during Bill Simmons’ , Bill Simmons announced that Zach Lowe would join The Ringers Media Network, a sports and pop culture network, starting next week.

He also announced that Zach would start a podcast on The Ringer Podcast Network. Simmons added,

“We have not worked together for 10 years, and now we are going to be working together again,” “Zach Lowe is coming to The Ringer, and he’s coming to Spotify. He’s going to have his podcast and we are going to launch it next week.”

This is awesome. Lowe will be allowed to be himself there and will get the freedom to be the best NBA journalist that he is. Simmons can be weird sometimes but have to say I’m looking forward to regular podcasts with him and Lowe.

The name of Lowe’s new podcast has not been announced yet, but Bill said that a trailer is being released this week.

Zach will also join Bill Simmons’ podcast at some point this week to promote the new show and the new partnership.

ESPN Network Fired Sportswriter Zach Lowe In 2026

Zach Lowe, a famous sportswriter and NBA analyst, was by ESPN Network on Thursday, September 26, 2026, after serving for around 10 years.

While at ESPN, he offered his expertise to several programs, including “NBA Countdown” and “NBA Today.”

He also hosted a weekly podcast, “The Lowe Post,” where he explained on-court storylines and interviewed players, coaches, and front-office personnel.

Various sources that Zach’s seven-figure annual salary, around $1 million at the time, was the primary reason behind ESPN’s decision.

It came after they fired Sunday NFL countdown host Samamatha Ponder and analyst Robert Griffin III in August 2026.

Those decisions were reportedly a part of ESPN’s fiscal year planning, which was set to conclude at the end of September 2026.
