Lucas recently enrolled at Texas A&M University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management at the prestigious Mays Business School.
A month before his death, he shared the exciting news that he had been accepted into the program. This acceptance showed the results of eight months of hard work.

Outside Of Academics And Athletics, Lucas Was A Diligent Worker Who Balanced Multiple Roles With Grace
From 2018 to 2026, he served as a pool manager at DS Recreational Services, Inc., earning the respect of colleagues and community members.
He later worked as a dining room attendant at Bakersfield for five months before joining Vuori as a sales floor associate in Houston.
In every role, Lucas brought his signature warmth and professionalism, forging connections that enriched the lives of those around him.
Lucas Had A Contagious Laugh, A Perfect Smile, And A Big Heart, Making Everyone Feel Valued
Whether you knew him for years or just a moment, Lucas left an impression of warmth and comfort that was uniquely his.
His parents described him as “a source of love, strength, and kindness.” Everyone who knew him felt the same way.
Friends remembered him as the life of every gathering, someone whose presence could transform a room.
Perhaps no one felt his loss more deeply than his best friend and roommate, Hayden De La Cruz, who penned a heartrending tribute:

Lucas and I shared such a powerful bond together, you changed my life for the better Luqui. Not a day will go by that I don’t think of you. Dance and sing up in heaven like you would down here for me. I love you with everything I have papa. Fly high my heavenly angel❤️🪽”

“Lucas went peacefully in his sleep. He was an amazing young athlete, who went on to play Div.1 in College, and had just transferred to Texas A&M.
Beside being such a great player for our 02/03 team who won numerous Championships, including the Champions League. He was also a star player for CyRanch HighSchool Varsity. Lucas was just an outstanding young man. Well grounded, extremely hard working, respectful, with superior work ethics, and such a charming personality. He mirrored to perfection what a true Dynamos Soldier should be.
Our staff is still in shock and full of sadness, but I know Lucas is, and always will be with us, smiling and cheering us on.”

After the tragedy, Lucas’s best friend, Hayden De La Cruz, started a GoFundMe campaign to help the Hitter family with funeral and memorial costs.
With a goal of $60,000, the fundraiser has already raised over $40,000, reflecting the immense love and respect for Lucas and his family.
