National Historic Landmark, The Rose Bowl Stadium has been evacuated as horrifying wildfires in California continue to spread.

The Eaton wildfires in Los Angeles, which have forced thousands of people from their homes, have now spread into Pasadena, initiating evacuation orders in the Iconic 90,000-seat Rose Bowl Stadium.

According to sources, at least four blazes are burning from the Pacific Coast inland to Pasadena. The strong winds make it impossible for firefighters to control the blaze.

The legendary Rose Bowl stadium that hosted the final of the 1994 World Cup and five Super Bowls is now at high risk because of the wildfires.

Fire chief Anthony Marrone stated, “Strong winds and low humidities have placed all residents of Los Angeles county in danger.“

Over 5,000 acres across three Los Angeles areas have burned since the fires began on Tuesday morning.

Likewise, on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said authorities prioritized life over everything else.

He added that over 700 sheriff departments are working round the clock to evacuate residents, with 32,500 people in Altadena, Pasadena, and surrounding areas under orders to leave their homes.

The last game before the evacuation warning at the Rose Bowl stadium was the College Football playoff quarterfinal game between Ohio State and Oregon on January 1, 2026.

Moreover, The Ohio State Buckeyes won the match against the Oregon Ducks with 41-21 points.

The Rose Bowl Is the 16th Biggest Stadium in the World and a Famous College Football Venue!

The Rose Bowl, an outdoor athletic stadium in Pasadena, California, is the 16th largest stadium in the world, the 11th largest in the United States, and the 10th-largest NCAA stadium.

The stadium opened on October 28, 1922, and is famous as a college football venue, especially as the host of the annual Rose Bowl Game.

Since 1982, it has served as the home stadium of the UCLA Bruins football team of the Big Ten Conference.

Likewise, five Super Bowl games, the third most played in any venue, have been played in the stadium.

The Rose Bowl is one of two stadiums to have hosted FIFA World Cup finals for both men and women, including the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final and the 1994 FIFA World Cup Final.

Similarly, around 94,194 people witnessed Brazil’s 1994 FIFA World Cup victory at The Rose Bowl Stadium, and around 90,185 people were present in the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup final, where the United States defeated China.

It also hosted the 1984 Olympic Soccer Gold Medal Match and numerous CONCACAF and United States Soccer Federation matches.

Furthermore, The Rose Bowl stadium will host the 2026 FIFA Club World Cup starting June 15, 2026.
