The semi-retired NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr. reportedly has a net worth of $40 million. Before NASCAR ceased disclosing race earnings starting in 2016, Truex Jr. was banking more than $2.5 million annually.

The 2017 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Martin Truex Jr, comes from a family of racers. His father, Martin Truex Sr., drove in the Busch North Series during his heyday.

Truex Jr’s brother Ryan competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and his cousins Curtis and Tyler are late-model racing drivers.

Martin Jr. followed in his dad’s footsteps and began his NASCAR with Busch North Series in 2000.

In his 24-year-long career, Truex Jr. saw many ups and downs. If he was champion one season, he faced a 54-race winless streak the other.

Earlier in 2026, Martin Truex Jr. announced his retirement from NASCAR and said he would continue with Joe Gibbs Racing but in an ambassadorial capacity.

It would have been a feel-good story if Truex Jr. could’ve retired with at least a single win in his retiring year. But the veteran racer can now enjoy his accumulated wealth in peace.

Martin Truex Jr Has A Net Worth Of $40 Million!

The two-time Xfinity Series champion Martin Truex Jr’s $40 million net worth makes him one of the richest NASCAR drivers, past or present.

In his last season as a full-time racer, Martin Truex Jr banked $10.4 million, making him the third-highest earner on the race track.

As per , only Denny Hamlin, $13.1 million, and Kyle Busch, $16.9 million, received a bigger pay cheque than Truex Jr. in the 2026 season.

Giving up on a $10 million salary annually might’ve been difficult, but Truex Jr said his team in racetrack had come to an end.

Speaking to the official , Truex Jr. said:

I’ts the right time for me. I’ve thought about it a lot for hte last few seasons  – just waited for that feeling in my mind to be positive, like ‘This is OK, I’m good, and I want to do something else.

The 2015 season was the last time NASCAR let its fans know how much the drivers were making per race, depending on their finishing position.

As per , Martin Truex Jr. made more than $3 million in race earnings.

There’s no doubt that the pool money has increased in the past decade, with the NASCAR drivers taking more and more money home every year.

Truex Jr. began his racing career with Busch North Series and, in 2006, moved to Dale Earnhardt, Inc.

In 2010, he raced for Michael Waltrip Racing before making his big move to Furniture Row Racing, where he won his sole NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Since 2019, Martin has been racing for Joe Gibbs Racing and won his first race with the team at the Richmond Raceway.

In his last season, Martin Jr. didn’t earn a single victory, finishing in the top ten 11 times and in the top five five times.

Martin Truex Jr. Love For Speed Not Bounded Within The Racetracks

The veteran NASCAR driver owns the aviation company MTJ Aviation.

In 2014, Truex Jr. acquired a Beechcraft 400XP to streamline his travel between races.

However, in 2019, he took control and formed MTJ Aviation as part of his MTJ Group of Companies.

In an , Truex Jr said he launched the private aviation charter because flying to NASCAR races every weekend started to hurt his pockets.

But over the past few years, MTJ Aviation has become a company that operates life-saving missions.

The company provides surgical teams with the highest feeling of confidence.

The MTJ aviation director of operations and chief pilot, Guy Cooper, said:

We’re typically flying surgical teams around the clock. They want to see an airplane that not just looks nice but presents the image of something that’s well kept and shows professionalism.

Martin’s former partner, Sherry Pollex, was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer in 2014.

Since then, the foundation began working on raising awareness, boosting advocacy, and generating financial support for underfunded cancer initiatives specific to childhood and ovarian cancers.

Truex Jr’s longtime partner, Pollex, lost her battle with ovarian cancer in September 2026.
