Nick Schmaltz sister, Kylie Schmaltz, is a former collegiate volleyball player. Kylie is one of two siblings of the Arizona Coyotes’ alternate captain and center.

Kylie Schmaltz, 25, made headlines after she was filmed shotgunning a beer after her older brother scored against the Nashville Predators. And though they were ahead at the time, Nick and his team lost against the Predators with a 5-4 scoreline.

The Coyotes’ player isn’t the only hockey player from his family, with his older brother, Jordan Schmaltz, also having played in the league. But Jordan has since quit playing hockey and is a podcast host and made his TV debut last year.

The forward recently opened up about his relationship with Clayton Keller and said they are always working to get better.

Nick Schmaltz Sister: Meet Kylie Schmaltz

Nick Schmaltz sister, Kylie Schmaltz, is the youngest family member of the Schmaltz household. A Verona High School graduate, Kylie was about to take the same hockey route as her two older brothers before she opted to play volleyball.

The only sister of two older brothers, Kylie grew up playing hockey with Nick and Jordan in their 20-by-20 concrete room designated for hockey in their home’s basement. The matchup would often be Kylie and Jordan against Nick.

At Verona, Kylie, a libero, was part of the Third Team All-State. She was named in the first team all-conference from 2013-15. In her senior season, she led her team in kills and was second in digs as an outside hitter.

In 2015, Kylie led her team to the sectional championship, and a year before she led the side to the regional championship. While at Verona, Kylie was also part of the track team for all four years and was a member of the school-record 4×100 and 4×200 meter teams.

After joining the University of Kentucky, Kylie gave academics more importance than her athletic career.

She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a business administration degree in 2026. After graduation, Kylie joined Loadsmart as their account sales representative.

After working there for eight months, Kylie joined Tegus as an analyst. She was promoted to senior analyst last year, and in January, she became Tegus’ associate analyst.

Alongside working in finance, Kylie has also pursued her passion for photography and fitness. She is a freelance photographer under CycleBar and a personal health and fitness coach for Anytime Fitness.

Since 2026, Kylie has also been working as a part-time retail sales associate at Uncommon James.

Nick Schmaltz Brother: Meet Jordan Schmaltz

Jordan Schmaltz is older than his younger brother by 27 months. The three siblings grew up in a family that allowed them to pursue their athletic careers.

Growing up, Jordan played in the Chicago Mission youth hockey club. With Chicago Mission, Jordan played four seasons and represented the United States U-17 team.

In 2009, he joined the USHL side, Sioux City Musketeers, where he played until 2011 before joining Green Bay Gamblers. The St. Louis Blues drafted Jordan as a 25th overall pick in 2012, and he enrolled at the University of North Dakota.

A defenceman, Jordan Schmaltz, played three years of collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota. In his freshman year, Jordan played all 42 games and was ranked fifth among WCHA rookie rearguards.

In his second year, Jordan was named to the All-NCHC Second Team, and he led the UND defensemen and tied for third among NCHC defensemen with a career-high 24 points.

Jordan was one of the three finalists for NCHC’s best offensive defenseman award and ranked second in the NCHC defenseman scoring race with a career-high 28 points. He made his NHL debut against the Colorado Avalanche in March 2017.

He was sent to play for Chicago Wolves, the AHL affiliation side of St. Louis Blues. In 2018, he signed a contract extension with the Blues but was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs a year later.

In 2026, he signed with the Finnish side, HIFK of Liiga. But since last year, Jordan has chosen to leave the athletic career and join the broadcasting world.

In December 2026, he made his with Midco Sports and also runs the podcast Live in Five with Gage Ausmus.
