The Imperial Beach, California, community is mourning the death of Christian Winnie, an active and adventurous young guy who made a lasting impression on those around him.

Christian Winnie’s death at 26 has shocked his family, friends, and the wider community, leaving a legacy of generosity, love, and adventure.

Christian was more than just a talented wrestler; he was a champion. For four years, he competed as a varsity wrestler, including in , showcasing his dedication and passion for the sport.

His achievements in wrestling were not limited to his high school days; he also competed at the college level as a wrestler for Cal Poly Humboldt.

Christian’s participation in wrestling was transparent when t in Corona and took first place at Monte Vista High School, where one of his matches went to triple overtime.

Beyond wrestling, Christian was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for nature.

He enjoyed hiking, traveling, and fishing, always seeking new adventures and experiences that allowed him to connect with the world around him.

His travels took him to exciting destinations, including Baja and Belize, where he could scuba dive on the barrier reef and live with the Mayans at a biological research station in Blue Creek.

These experiences broadened his horizons and taught him respect for different cultures and environments.

Christian Was Not Only A Talented Athlete But Also An Accomplished Academic

with a Bachelor of Arts degree, complemented by a Business Administration and Management minor.

Additionally, he earned a degree in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Facilities Management, showing his diverse interests and capabilities.

His academic achievements resulted from his hard work and dedication to personal growth.

In addition to his formal education, Christian pursued certifications that aligned with his passion for travel and adventure.

He completed Evolution Travel Academy’s Travel 101 course, which allowed him to become his travel agent—a dream he proudly shared on social media.

Furthermore, he was licensed as a Wilderness First Responder from NOLS Wilderness Medicine, proving his dedication to safety and responsibility in the outdoors.

Christian was known for his kind heart and adventurous spirit. He was a fantastic son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend who brought immense joy and love into the lives of those around him.

His family and friends remember him for his smile and warm hugs, which always made everyone feel welcome and valued.

Christian had a huge impact on his community, and his death has left an emptiness that will be felt deeply by everyone who knew him.

As Christian’s family prepares to say their final goodbyes, they face the daunting task of arranging a dignified and heartfelt farewell for their beloved son.

However, the financial burden of funeral expenses has become overwhelming during this already challenging time.

To help relieve some of this burden, K.

The funds raised will go towards transportation, funeral services, and memorial arrangements, ensuring that Christian receives the send-off he deserves.

The community’s outpouring of support has been remarkable, with many sharing heartfelt messages and memories of Christian and wrote,

“In my worst of nightmare i’ve had to say goodbye to my wonderful son. RIP you are not in pain anymore and with your savior. I will see and be with you soon. I love you Christian.
